Game Preview: Arsenal V BlackPool 21.08.10

Been too busy this week. So will do a quick preview of the game.

This is our first home game of the season. And I see a lot of excitement in gooners who go and watch it at the Emirates. Although the renaming of stands doesn’t affect us as such, we see it from far far away. But, if the fans are happy they will make lots of noise and that will sure add to the joy for us watching at home.

To the game, we have no new players but have two more out now. Samir Nasri is out for a month, and Frimpong may be out for atleast 9 months. Although, Song, Djourou and Cesc are back in the squad and I see the first two starting todays game.

Djourou needs to play and prove that the faith Wenger has in him is not undeserved. Song should play as he does and provides our back four the cover they really need.

Almunia in goal is scary, but what can be done about it.

Blackpool won away from home in their first game back in the EPL, so we should not take them lightly but Wigan is far from the team that beat us at the late end of last season.

All in all expect a good performance from us and nothing less than 3 points would do.

Up Gunners!

Pre Season Starts And Cesc Saga Goes On

Season Kicks off.

So we kicked off against Barnet FC. To be honest, without any disrespect to the hosts, it was never going to be tough and so it proved when Arshavin opened the scoring just two minutes into the game. And then came more through Simpson. The good thing was Jack Wilshere was involved in much of the midfield play and was in the mix of things for all the three goals in the first half. The fourth came from Nasri who slotted home when a the defender missed a back-pass. The squad looked nice, but you can’t read much into it, Can you?

Notable Absentees

The major news from the game, was that neither Eduardo nor Almunia were anywhere near the ground.  The boss said Almunia was ill and we do not have “A No-1” at the moment. Also, reports in Croatia suggest Eduardo is off to Shakhtar Donetsk for something around €7mill. I feel gutted for him, but till we have cunts like Shawcross/Taylor, such things will keep happening. Good Luck to him

Cesc Stays

The boss categorically stated that Cesc is going nowhere and he was very absolute when he said, we need to tell the world that we do not sell just for the sake that someone wants our players. I hope AW can make Cesc understand that his future is here.

But the cunts from Barcelona are not stopping, they still are trying to get him. Press reports Rosell will be in town on tuesday to make a last ditch effort. I hope he gets the door smashed into his face. In the meanwhile, Pep Guardiola thinks getting Cesc will cost a lot (isn’t that obvious).Anyways I will leave them to ponder.

I still feel that this is not yet over, there may be twists and turns.

Joe Cole to LFC

Today another transfer fire has been tamed with LFC announcing that Joe Cole has signed for them. I never wanted him, unless we were planning to sell Rosicky/Cesc/Arshavin. And I feel we have done a nice thing by not deciding to pay such high wages to a player who has a history of injuries. We don’t want another one, do we?

And the end bit

There are  reports Robin Van Persie will wear no 10, as AW confirmed that Gallas and Silvester have left the club.

Also our young lad Tom Cruise scored the winning goal for England U-19 last night.

Up Gunners!
